Wikileaks crowdfunding €100,000 reward for TTIP secrets

Wikileaks is crowdfunding a €100,000 reward for anyone that can secure information on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). $44,871 had been raised by 1,067 people at the time of writing, with high profile politicians, philosophers, fashion designers and journalists contributing.

The US and European Union have been debating the treaty, which seeks to remove "non-tarriff barriers" from goods and investments trade, behind closed doors. The problem with those "non-tarriff barriers"? They have the potential to threaten European rights ranging from online piracy to health safety. In a nutshell, TTIP seeks to remove the hassle of passing the different regulations set by different nations, and instead implement more universal standards to ease trade. The problem? No one really knows how this will be done, because the negotiations have remained secret.
